Authorities: Woman trying to get help hit by semi on I-94

MARSHALL, Mich. (WOOD) — A Battle Creek woman was hit by a semi-truck while trying to get help after a crash on I-94 near Marshall.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says the 46-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle and hit a guardrail on westbound I-94 near mile marker 113 around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday.

She left the vehicle and attempted to flag down traffic for help when she was hit by a semi, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital in Jackson.

Westbound I-94 from mile marker 110 to 115 was closed for about an hour before reopening around 7 a.m.
