Kentwood PD: 16-year-old shot in drive-by

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — A 16-year-old was hurt in a drive-by shooting in Kentwood Monday afternoon.

It happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Shaffer Avenue and 32nd Street, according to the Kentwood Police Department.

Police say the teen was waiting to cross 32nd when he was shot by the passenger in a passing vehicle, which was headed south on Shaffer.

The teen found his own ride to the hospital. He sustained a non-life-threatening injury and had been released from the hospital by Monday night.
