GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) In July 2016, one of West Michigan’s favorite musical artists, Andy Holtgreive of Domestic Problems, sat down with his guitar and shared a video on his Facebook page of a new song he had written – and it went viral! More than 33,000 people have viewed it and now he hopes its simple message will start a movement.
“Remember Love” is a song Holtgreive wrote for his daughter to encourage her on how to conquer tough times in life. Now he’s ready to make a music video for the popular song and you can take part! It’s happening on Tuesday, August 30 at Rosa Parks Circle starting at noon. Bring a sign that helps you remember love and get ready to have fun!
One of the collaborators behind the music video, Quinn Matthews, is Station Manager of WYCE Community Radio. WYCE loves to involve the community and bring it together with music. There are some upcoming events you can take part in.
Listen and Lunch at GR Live is a live radio show that takes place every Thursday at H.O.M.E at the B.O.B. in downtown Grand Rapids. On September 1, listen to Dizzy Bird Records’ Artists and Gringo Star & The Harlequins. It’s from noon to 1 p.m. and it’s free!
WYCE will have musicians performing throughout ArtPrize Eight, but a special event is planned for September 30 and October 1. The ArtPrize Blue Bridge Music Fest will feature live music by many popular local acts. There will be Founders beer, food, and pop-up record stores. There is no admission charge!
