Charges coming in Peppino’s robbery near GVSU

ALLENDALE, Mich. (WOOD) — Investigators say two men they believe were involved in a robbery near Grand Valley State University’s Allendale campus are in custody.

A Peppino’s employee was robbed at gunpoint just after 2 a.m. Wednesday in the restaurant’s parking lot, located in the 5000 block of Lake Michigan Drive.

The victim told deputies the men confronted him near his vehicle then ran into the Allendale Meadows mobile home park after the crime.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, detectives arrested a 30-year-old Allendale man and a 27-year-old Kent County man on unrelated warrants Thursday. Charges for the robbery are forthcoming.
