DALTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Muskegon County Sheriff confirms a blown tire is to blame for the rollover crash that killed two people and injured a third person.
The crash happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday on northbound U.S. 31 near Russell Road in Dalton Township, about three miles southwest of Michigan’s Adventure.
Sheriff Dean Roesler tells 24 Hour News 8 a vehicle’s tire blew, causing it to roll into the median and hit a tree.
The surviving passenger’s extent of injuries is unclear.
Authorities shut down a lane of the highway for about an hour to investigate the crash. All lanes have since reopened to traffic.
