Relatives of the victim said Dailey broke up with Salyers less than a week ago. Friends said Salyers was possessive, controlling and obsessed over Dailey.

Disturbing posts and videos were put up on Salyers’ Facebook page just hours before Dailey’s murder. He also reportedly sent a threat to her family.

Dailey’s father, Kevin Dailey, said the last time he talked to Barbie she begged him to help her get the accused killer out of her life.

Salyers’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 20.
