GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Although Artprize Eight is still one week away, people can start seeing some of the art early for the first ever preview week.
More than 30 venues are participating in preview week with more than 1,400 ArtPrize pieces already on display.
The Grand Rapids Art Museum, Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts, and Kendall College of Art & Design of Ferris State University are among some of the participating venues.
Venues are free during ArtPrize, but since preview week starts before the official competition, regular admission fees may apply. ArtPrize art club members can still get in free.
ArtPrize Preview Week runs from Sept. 14-20 followed by the actual ArtPrize Eight competition which runs Sept. 21 through Oct. 9.
Organizers are still in need of more volunteers for the competition. You must be 18-years-old or older to help out. Those interested can sign up online.
