NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WOOD) — A subsidiary of GE Aviation is expected to create 100 jobs in Norton Shores as part of an expansion.
Johnson Technology, Inc. already employs nearly 700 workers at two facilities in Muskegon County to manufacture aircraft engine parts. Still, it needs more space to keep up with anticipated growth. As such, it will invest $15 million in expanding into another warehouse in Norton Shores, creating 100 jobs.
In a Wednesday release announcing the expansion, the Michigan Economic Development Corp. said it had awarded Johnson a $800,000 grant. The City of Norton Shores has also offered a property tax abatement.
