2 Albion College students robbed at gunpoint on campus

ALBION, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say two Albion College students were robbed at gunpoint early Thursday morning.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. in the parking lot at the Bobbitt Visual Arts Center, located at 805 E Cass Street, according to a news release from the Albion College’s Office of Campus Safety.

Two students were sitting in a red 2010 Jeep Patriot with Michigan license plate CPD 1143 when two men dressed in black, wearing ski jackets and masks approached the vehicle. One of the suspects had a long gun, the students told police.

The suspects stole the vehicle as well as other items and fled the scene. They were last seen driving east on Michigan Avenue.

Albion Public Safety will be increasing patrols around campus for the next few days, the release said.

The incident remains under investigation.
