Man killed in GR shooting; suspect on the run

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids Police Department is investigating a homicide on the city’s southwest side.

Police say they were called to the alley between Dorchester and Norwich Avenue SW in the Black Hills neighborhood on the sound of gunshots around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

When officers arrived, they found a 27-year-old Grand Rapids man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Mercy Health Saint Mary’s hospital where he later died. Police have not released the victim’s name at this time.
