GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A rollover crash on I-196 in downtown Grand Rapids caused backups on that highway and US-131 Thursday evening.
The cause of the crash is not yet known and it’s unclear if anyone was hurt.
The rollover happened in the far left westbound lane near the US-131 interchange. As a result, there were backups on westbound I-196 as far back as College Avenue and on the ramps to and from US-131. The Michigan Department of Transportation tweeted the ramp from northbound US-131 shut down completely as crews deal with the crash.
Traffic seemed to be moving normally again by 8 p.m.
