GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Sears Holding Corp. said it is closing two Kmart stores in Kent County.

The Kmart stores located on 68th Street in Byron Township and N. Kent Mall NE in Plainfield Township are expected to close in mid-December. The stores are expected to remain open for customers until then.

Sears Holding says the stores will begin their liquidation sale on Sept. 22.

The company blamed poor sales for the store closings.

There are Kmart locations still open in Battle Creek, Greenville, Hastings, Muskegon and Marshall. For more Michigan locations, click here.
