GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Local businesses and organizations came together to volunteer across West Michigan on the 20th Annual “Day of Caring.”
Started in 1996, the Heart of West Michigan United Way has encouraged people to volunteer and make a difference in our community. Over the past 20 years thousands of people have helped to make a huge impact.
This day of service gives employees a chance to give back and exposes them to needs of the community they might not have seen before.
Today more than 1,400 volunteers from across West Michigan were volunteering with schools and non-profits to help clean-up, paint, and mentoring kids.
If you didn’t get a chance to volunteer, there’s always more chances to volunteer all year long.
