GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — Apple’s new iPhone is out, but you will have a hard time finding it in stores.

Many people who lined up to buy the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus Friday were not able to get the device because of pre-orders.

Apple warned customers early on that the newest iPhone would be in short supply. The 7 Plus is already sold out through pre-orders; the jet black iPhone 7 is also sold out.

However iPhone fans may be able to find the newest generation device at non-Apple retailers, like Best Buy.

Eric McCallister, general manager of the AT&T store in Grandville, said it learned from last year’s massive demand for the iPhone 6s and was prepared for Friday’s launch.

“We’ve got limited quantities in stock, as far as what we have. Customers have to come down and check it out and if there’s anything we don’t have (that) they want, they can get it shipped to their house,” said McCallister.

The latest iPhone doesn’t have an analog headphone jack; Apple is hoping users will embrace the change and shift to wireless headphones.  The device also features a better camera, faster processor and water resistance.

The iPhone release comes the same week Apple released the iOS 10 update.
