Plane blocks runways at Ford Airport

CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Some flights into Gerald R. Ford International Airport were diverted Monday evening after a plane had a mechanical problem that caused it to block the runways.

The private aircraft landed without incident around 6 p.m. Monday and then experienced a landing gear problem, the airport tweeted. As a result, the aircraft was blocking the airport’s two main runways.

Flights had to be diverted until the plane could be removed, the airport said.
