GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) More than 500 women have started businesses of their own with the help of an organization called G.R.O.W. – Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women. Now G.R.O.W. is planning a special event to help plant the seeds for even more entrepreneurial endeavors.

The Seeds of GROWth Awards Luncheon takes place on Tuesday, October 4. The featured speaker is Gwen Jimmere, founder of Naturalicious and co-owner owner of Pitch Proof. She was single and pregnant when she came up with her line of natural hair care products and launched Naturalicious.

The luncheon will also honor local business owners Kay Staszel, owner of KMS Group, Michele Venegas, owner of Joyful Sounds, and Jessica Ann Tyson, owner of JA PR Group.

The Seeds of GROWth Awards Luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the JW Marriott in Grand Rapids. Tickets are $60 until September 20 or $70 starting September 21.
