GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The first round of voting for ArtPrize Eight officially kicked off on Wednesday.
In May, ArtPrize organizers announced two major changes that took effect for this year’s event.
Artists who previously won the public vote grand prize or juried grand prize cannot win again. Artist Ann Loveless took home the $200,000 public vote grand prize in both 2013 and 2015.
Also, venues cannot have more than two entries advance to the public vote Final 20.
In 2015, six of the entries that made it into the public vote Final 20 were located at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum, four at the DeVos Place and four at Amway Grand Plaza.
The first round of public voting runs from noon on Sept. 21 through Oct. 1.
