Kentwood police seek tips in bicyclist hit-and-run crash

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — Kentwood police are turning to the public for tips in a hit and run crash that seriously injured a bicyclist.

Police say 26-year-old Jeremy Carlson was pedaling west on 36th Street at 1:17 a.m. Saturday when he was hit by a northbound car at the Broadmoor Avenue intersection.

The driver continued on after the crash.

Officers say Carlson has been transferred to Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital where he is recovering from a head injury.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a 1999-2003 Mitsubishi Galant that is dark silver to medium gray. The car would have damage to its passenger side.

Detectives are also seeking the driver of a yellow vehicle reportedly following the Gallant who may have witnessed the crash.
