Authorities: 2 hospitalized after Greenville crash

GREENVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were hospitalized after a vehicle crash involving a gravel truck in Montcalm County.

It happened shortly after 3 p.m. Friday on W. Washington Street at S. Hillcrest Street near downtown Greenville, according to a new release from the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department.

Police say the driver, a 67-year-old woman, and a passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The woman was taken to Spectrum Health Greenville and then to Spectrum Health Grand Rapids where she is listed in critical condition. The passenger was taken to DeVos Children’s Hospital, the extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.

The intersection was closed for nearly six hours while authorities were on scene. The crash remains under investigation.
