WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — A Montcalm County man is charged with arson in connection to a fire that damaged a Wyoming business.

The fire started around 7:50 a.m. on Sept. 17 at Destiny Dental, located at 1124 28th Street SW.

Witnesses said a man broke the front door to the business and threw a Molotov cocktail inside. The fire was put out quickly, and police say the business suffered minimal damage.

The Wyoming Department of Public Safety says evidence uncovered by its arson investigator led authorities to the 30-year-old Gowen man.

He’s facing a felony charge of third-degree arson and being habitual offender. Officers say this is his third offense.

The suspect remains in the Montcalm County Jail on arson and stalking charges in a separate case, police say. Authorities are withholding his name until he’s formally charged in Wyoming District Court.
