BCPD: Man shot multiple times; suspect at-large

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Battle Creek police say a man was hospitalized after being shot multiple times Friday night.

It happened around 9:55 p.m. in the first block of W Rittenhouse Avenue.

Police say the victim was with two other people when they were approached by the suspect. The suspect fired his gun multiple times at the victim. Several parked cars in the area were also hit by bullets. The suspect then took off on foot.

The 34-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where police say he is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries to his lower body.

Police brought in a K-9 unit, but were not able to track the suspect.
