COOPER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo County sheriff’s deputies say a man was killed after he lost he crashed his vehicle in Cooper Township.
It happened at 7:03 a.m. Saturday in the 2900 block of East D Avenue. Deputies say the driver was driving eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle and went off of the roadway. His vehicle drove down a small embankment and crashed into multiple trees.
The victim, a 71-year-old Kalamazoo man, had to be removed from his vehicle. He was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Deputies say the man was wearing his seat belt, adding that speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.
