FARMVILLE, Va. (WIAT) — The GOP declared victory in Tuesday’s vice presidential debate hours before the candidates even took the stage.

Tuesday evening, the GOP published an article declaring Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence the “clear winner” of the debate.

The post on the website GOP.com stated, “Americans from all across the country tuned in to watch the one and only Vice Presidential debate. During the debate, we helped fact check and monitor the conversation in real-time @GOP. The consensus was clear after the dust settled, Mike Pence was the clear winner of the debate.”

A screen grab from GOP.com shows the statement released before the debate was even finished.

The only problem, of course, is that the dust hasn’t even fallen. The debate between Indiana Gov. Pence and Sen. Tim Kaine started at 9 p.m.
