KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — HopCat announced plans to open its downtown Kalamazoo location this weekend.
The restaurant and craft beer bar located inside the train depot at 300 E. Water Street will open at 11 a.m. Saturday. It will be the fifth location in Michigan and 11th location overall.
The Kalamazoo location will feature 100 craft beers on tap, a full kitchen, a multi-season outdoor patio and a beer garden with an Airstream trailer turned into a bar.
It will also be within walking distance of Bell’s Brewery, Arcadia Brewing Co., as well as other downtown breweries and restaurants.
“This is another great beer town for us. Right across the street from Bells. We hope that partnership is an awesome experience for everybody. Having Western Michigan here for us we are also super excited for that. Kalamazoo in general is known for a few great things — beer, food, it’s got a great night life, there is a great vibe here,” said Garry Boyd, the vice president of food and beverage at HopCat.
To celebrate their opening, HopCat will have a special all-Michigan beer list and free crack fries all day for visitors. The first 200 people in line will also get free crack fries every week for a year.
