NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was killed Friday in a two-vehicle crash in Norton Shores.
It happened around 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of Seminole Road and Henry Street, according to a news release from the Norton Shores Police Department.
Witnesses told police that a tan 2008 Chevy Equinox was heading westbound on Seminole when he ran a red light at the intersection at a high rate of speed. The vehicle struck a northbound 2005 GMC Yukon, a power pole and fire hydrant, according to the release.
The driver of the Chevy Equinox, a 72-year-old Muskegon Heights man, was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries, the release said.
The driver of the GMC Yukon, a 62-year-old Laketon Township man, is in stable condition at Hackley Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
