LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say a pickup truck crashed into a public transit bus in Lansing, injuring at least five people.
The Lansing State Journal reports police say the bus was struck Thursday night by a 16-year-old driver who ran a red light. After the collision, the Capital Area Transportation Authority bus veered off the roadway and rolled into a used car lot.
Lansing police spokesman Robert Merritt says the truck driver and his female passenger, also 16, were hospitalized. The 46-year-old bus driver and two passengers, aged 42 and 24, also were hospitalized. Police say others on the bus may have had minor injuries.
Merritt says there were 12 people on the bus, including the driver. The crash is under investigation.
