KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The suspect who allegedly pepper-sprayed a dog in Kalamazoo County has been arrested.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office said a 28-year-old Kalamazoo man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on an outstanding warrant from Grand Traverse County.

Authorities said the man confronted people who were walking their dogs along Al Sabo Trails in Texas Township, southwest of Kalamazoo. He became “irate” when he saw the dogs and verbally confronted their owners and pepper-sprayed one of the dogs.

Several other possible victims have come forward, the sheriff’s office said.

The incident remains under investigation. Authorities hope to present the case to prosecutor’s office Wednesday.
