Deputies: Several injured in Kent Co. crash

ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Kent County sheriff’s deputies say several people were injured a crash in Alpine Township.

It happened at 10:35 a.m. Friday on Fruit Ridge Avenue, south of 5 Mile Road. Deputies say a minivan was driving southbound on Fruit Ridge Avenue when it crossed the center line, striking a northbound vehicle. The crash forced both vehicles off of the roadway.

The driver of the minivan, a 60-year-old female, was taken to the hospital with several broken bones. Deputies say she’s in stable condition. The occupants of the other vehicle were all taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation, but deputies say speed and alcohol were not factors.
