Deputies: Woman assaulted by intruder in Calhoun Co. home

ALBION TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Calhoun County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a home invasion where they say the intruder assaulted a woman before fleeing.

It happened at 6:40 p.m. Saturday in the 24000 block of J Drive South in Albion Township.

Deputies say the woman arrived at her home and found the man inside. The suspect assaulted her before taking off on foot. The woman suffered minor injuries, but did not seek medical treatment. Nothing was taken from the home.

A K-9 unit was brought onto the scene but had limited success in tracking the suspect.

The intruder is described as a white male in his mid-20s. He is approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall with a skinny build and a light beard, possibly one day’s growth. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap with the hood pulled over it. He also had a red and white bandanna tied on his right knee.

Deputies say they do not have other reports of this happening in the area.
