Man seriously hurt after hit by vehicle in Wyoming

Circumstances surrounding crash on Division Avenue not yet clear

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — A 24-year-old man was seriously hurt after he was hit by a vehicle in Wyoming Sunday evening.

Police say a vehicle heading southbound on S. Division Avenue hit the pedestrian near Avonlea Street off from 32nd Street SW around 8:30 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old man from Wyoming, and two other witnesses told officers that the pedestrian didn’t look before stepping off of the curb and into the path of the vehicle, according to a release from the Wyoming Department of Public Safety.

The 24-year-old man, identified as Carlos Moncrief of Wyoming, was taken to a local hospital in serious, but stable condition.
