GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman was hospitalized after police say she was robbed and stabbed in Grand Rapids Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to the area of Bates Street and Dolbee Avenue SE on a report of a stabbing just after 5 a.m.
Police say a 57-year-old woman was walking on Bates Street when the suspect approached her and demanded her belongings.
The woman was stabbed in both legs during a struggle with the suspect. She was taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a black man, 25-30 years old, 6-foot tall and thin. He was last seen wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
