Deputies say a 2001 Ford Explorer was heading westbound when the vehicle went off the highway, struck a tree and caught on fire.

The driver, 22-year-old Andrew Passinault, was the only person inside the vehicle at the time.

It’s unclear what led up to the crash.

Passinault was a graduate of Forest Hills Northern High School, according to his obituary. His father, Steve Passinault, is the principal at Forest Hills Central High School.
