Gas station in Ottawa Co. robbed; police seek suspect

OLIVE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a gas station in Ottawa County at gunpoint.

Deputies were called to the Exxon Mobil gas station on 136th Avenue near West Olive just before midnight Wednesday.

Deputies say the suspect showed the clerk a handgun and demanded money from the register. The suspect ran away on foot after stealing an unknown amount of money.

A K-9 unit was brought in to search the area, but was unable to locate the suspect.

The male suspect is described as having a slender build and between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing blue sweatpants, a gray hoodie, camouflage face mask and gloves.
