SWARTHMORE, Pa. (WCMH/WOOD) — A Pennsylvania man who said he’d rather die than watch a presidential debate apparently meant it.

That’s according to the online obituary for George Norman Davis, who passed away Sept. 26 – the same day as the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

“At least he is no longer obligated to vote, firmly believing regardless of the outcome, the nation is going someplace in a handbasket and he would rather travel in the opposite direction,” states his obituary on the Delaware County Daily Times’ website.

The third and final presidential debate before the Nov. 8 election took place Wednesday.
