Deputies: Two hospitalized after Kzoo Co. shooting; suspect at-large

OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man they say shot two people early Sunday morning.

It happened at 12:15 a.m. in the 5800 block of Copper Beech Blvd. in Oshtemo Township.

Deputies say they received multiple reports from the area of shots fired and that someone may have been hit by the gunfire. When they arrived on-scene, they found the area where the shots were fired, but did not locate any victims.

A short time later, deputies were told that two men, ages 22 and 23-years-old, arrived at Bronson Hospital with gunshot wounds. Authorities say their condition is not known.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a varsity-type jacket that had an “abstract image” on the back. Deputies say he fled the shooting scene in a white Chrysler 300 that was described as being “very clean.” The license plate number to the vehicle is not known, and deputies say the suspect was a passenger in the vehicle.
