WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids police officer arrested for allegedly driving under the influence has been formally charged.

Michael Rozema, 46, was arraigned Tuesday in Wyoming District Court on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and failure to report an accident. He entered not guilty pleas to both charges and will be back court on Nov. 16.

On Oct. 16, Rozema was allegedly involved in a single-car crash and left the scene. He was off-duty at the time of the crash. Michigan State Police arrested the officer. Police say the officer’s blood alcohol was above the legal limit of .08.

Rozema was placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation.
