Classes canceled in Muskegon Co. due to power outage

MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — More than 1,300 Consumers Energy customers in Muskegon County are without power Wednesday afternoon.

The outage happened shortly after 11 a.m., according to the Consumers Energy outage map. Crews are currently working to restore service, and power is expected to be back on around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The cause of the outage is unknown at this time.

Due to the outage, all classes at all Muskegon Community College campuses have been canceled until 6 p.m. and the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center is closed for the remainder of the day.
