WARREN, Mich. (AP/WOOD) — As the Nov. 8 general election nears, representatives for both presidential candidates will be in Michigan within the next week.

Hillary Clinton’s daughter Chelsea Clinton will be in West Michigan on Saturday, hosting events in Battle Creek and Muskegon.

Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine will campaign at a get-out-the-vote rally in metro Detroit on Sunday.  The Virginia senator plans to visit Taylor for a public rally and meet with more than 500 union members and their families at the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights in Warren in Macomb County.

Those planning to attend the events include Michigan Sen. Gary Peters and Doug McCarron, president of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Millwrights.

Kaine’s rally is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. People can sign up online to attend the event.

For the GOP, former presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson will host events through Michigan this weekend, appearing in metro Detroit, East Lansing and Grand Rapids. Saturday, he’ll sit down with 24 Hour News 8 Political Reporter Rick Albin to share his thoughts on the race.
