UNDATED (WOOD) — Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is the new No. 1 in college football when it comes to salary.
A USA Today survey shows he is now the highest-paid coach in NCAA football, earning just over $9 million this year.
If you ask the Wolverines, the investment is paying off: The Wolverines are currently No. 2 in the country, with a 7-0 record. Harbaugh is 17-3 overall in his two seasons in Ann Arbor.
His pay package easily outpaces Alabama’s Nick Saban, who was previously the top-paid coach in the college ranks at about $7 million per year, according USA Today’s report.
If both programs continue their winning ways, it’s possible we could see the two coaches go head-to-head for a national title this season.
