GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police are investigating after someone showed up to a local hospital Thursday night with a gunshot wound.

The victim’s wounds are not considered life-threatening, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.

The shooting was reported around 9:15 p.m. Police think it happened in the 1900 block of Collins Avenue SE, north of Burton Street. That’s also just north of Garfield Park.

The victim was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet clear and no suspects were in custody Thursday night.

Sunday, after shots were fired a few blocks away, police thought a suspect was in a house in that same block of Collins. After having the house surrounded for hours, police found the suspect was not inside. No injuries were reported in connection to that incident.

It was not immediately known whether there was any connection between Sunday’s events and Thursday’s shooting.
