KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Kalamazoo are looking for a second suspect in connection to a shooting on Wednesday.

Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were called to the 600 block of Portage Street for a reported shooting around 3:45 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a 27-year-old Kalamazoo man on the ground with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

Police say the man admitted to officers that he was there to sell marijuana when he was shot during the drug deal.

An 18-year-old man was arrested near the scene and taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail on several drug and weapon offense charges. A K-9 unit also located a hidden gun near the scene of the shooting.
