CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A teenager was killed Friday in a crash in Caledonia Township.
It happened around 3:15 p.m. south of the Cherry Valley Avenue and 76th Street intersection. Investigators say 16-year-old Macayla Lee Kohn of Caledonia was driving northbound on Cherry Valley Avenue when she drove off the roadway, then over corrected, lost control and struck a tree.
Kohn was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash. It remains under investigation.
Neighbors and firefighters say that stretch of road is dangerous and would for a four-way stop at the intersection of Cherry Valley Avenue and 76th Street.
