KDPS: Driver runs away after crash hurts 2

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo police are looking for the driver who ran away after causing a car crash that left two women injured.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of W. Vine and S. Rose streets, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety. Police say the at-fault driver ran a red light. The victims’ vehicle was struck on the driver’s side and the two women inside were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The at-fault driver then ran away, witnesses told police. A police K-9 led officers to some of the suspect’s clothing and suspected drugs that they think he left behind. The suspect wasn’t found, however.

Police say they know who he is — a 36-year-old Kalamazoo man who is already wanted on two outstanding warrants.
