GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say two people were shot outside a gas station in Grand Rapids Tuesday night.

The victims told police they were at the Speedway gas station at the intersection of Leonard Street and Turner Avenue NW to meet up with someone they met on Facebook about a purchase.

When the two men showed up they said the person they were meeting shot them.

One of the victims was shot in the knee and the other had a bullet graze his wrist. Police were contacted after the victims showed up to a Grand Rapids hospital with gunshot wounds. They are expected to be okay.

The suspect is described as a black man, 5-feet 5-inches, and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie under a black, fleece jacket and blue jeans.

Police did not specify what the men were trying to purchase when they were shot.

There has been an uptick in the number of shooting incidents in Grand Rapids in the last two months, GRPD confirmed to 24 Hour News 8 earlier in the day.
