PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence will be in Portage Thursday to rally for his running mate.
The rally is being held at the Air Zoo Aerospace & Science Museum at 3:30 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
Pence will be joined by U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.
Tickets to the event are free, but those who want to attend are asked to RSVP online. There is a limit of two tickets per person.
The Air Zoo said in a statement Thursday that its hosting of the event does not represent an endorsement of or support for Trump and said it remains “absolutely neutral in terms of partisan politics.” It says organizations may book its event spaces regardless of political affiliation.
Donald Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. spoke at Grand Valley State University on Wednesday. Trump himself stumped in Grand Rapids and on the east side of the state Monday.
An EPIC-MRA poll released last Thursday showed 41 percent of voters would choose Clinton if the election was held immediately. Thirty-four percent said they would vote for Trump. That put Clinton’s lead well outside the poll’s plus or minus 4 percent margin of error. However, the poll was taken before the FBI announced it would be searching a new batch of emails that may be relevant to their investigation into Clinton.
