OTSEGO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The National Shooting Sports Foundation is adding to a reward for information leading to a pair of thieves who stole a cache of weapons from an Allegan County gun store.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says two masked suspects broke into Southwick’s Guns, Ammo and Gear store around 11:47 p.m. on Oct. 28.

Authorities say the suspects didn’t trigger the Plainwell business’s alarm when they smashed a window to get inside. The ATF says the pair of masked and gloved thieves were in and out of the store within 31 seconds, with 10 stolen handguns in tow.

Employees didn’t discover the crime until the next morning when they opened the store, located at 1271 M-89 in Plainwell.

The NSSF is matching the ATF’s offer, bringing the total reward for the arrests of the burglars to up to $5,000.

Anyone with information about the crime is urged to contact the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office at 269.673.0500 or the ATF at 1.800.283.4867 or by email.
