The Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office says students were boarding the bus when a Toyota Rav4 hit it. Police on scene say the driver of the car was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Tom Livezey, the superintendent of Oakridge Public Schools, told 24 Hour News 8 none of the 23 middle and high school students on the bus were hurt.

Another bus was brought in to take them to school.

Maple Island Road was closed between Apple Avenue and Hall Road, but has since reopened.
