LOWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was killed Friday after a crash involving a semi-truck in Kent County.
The crash happened before 4:30 p.m. Friday at Alden Nash Avenue and Emery Drive SE in Lowell Township.
Kent County sheriff’s deputies told 24 Hour News 8 that a white vehicle heading southbound on Alden Nash Avenue tried to turn left on to Emery Drive when the vehicle went in front of a semi-truck. After the initial crash, the white vehicle and semi-truck struck a third vehicle that was heading southbound on Alden Nash.
The 19-year-old driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead on scene. The drivers of the semi-truck and third vehicle were not injured.
Authorities have not released the victim’s name pending family notification.
The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol and speed are not factors in the crash, according to deputies.
