WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Eastbound I-96 near Marne was shut down for a time Wednesday afternoon after crashes involving multiple semi-trucks.
The closure happened just before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on I-96 at the 22 mile marker, located in Wright Township.
Ottawa County dispatchers say two semi-trucks and one vehicle were involved in one of the crashes, which happened between 24th and 16th avenues.
About 10 minutes later, the Michigan Department of Transportation tweeted the freeway was closed because of multiple crashes. One lane reopened before 5:30 p.m.
It’s unclear if anyone is injured.
