GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — If the election this week has you feeling like you need a drink, you are in luck. Cocktail Week is underway in Grand Rapids.
More than 35 restaurants are participating in the second annual Cocktail Week GR, which runs through Nov. 20.
“We’re really excited to be part of the second annual cocktail week. We are only 18 months old so this is, we just released our bourbon whiskey, the first bourbon in the history of Grand Rapids, and so we are highlighting that in our cocktail,” said Jon O’Conner, one of the owners of Long Road Distillery.
Restaurants are offering two Michigan cocktails and a shared-plate appetizer for $25 or less as well as menu items paired with Michigan-distilled spirits.
“We’re in Beer City USA so everyone is excited about beer, but the cocktail movement is started to make its way into West Michigan and we’re proud to be a leader in that,” O’Connor said.
